Cowichan Bay is a unique and historic waterfront community that is located on southern Vancouver Island about 10 minutes south if Duncan BC. In this quaint waterfront village you can leisurely paddle around the bay to view the waterfowl, visit an art gallery, play tennis on the worlds 2nd oldest active lawn tennis court, or simply take a picnic on a deserted beach. There are always delicious Dungeness crabs to be caught straight out from the boat launch at Hecate Park.
I have never been skunked in all my years of crabbing that spot :o) There are also some fabulous shops that you don't want to miss. Hilary's cheese is absolutely gorgeous and the bread shop is right next door… Mmmmm. Their raisin bread is to die for. There's also some fabulous seafood restaurants you don't want to miss, least of which is the "Rock Cod Café". Fantastic Oysters! Yahooooo… OK, so you can tell I like oysters :o) Actually, I can't think of any seafood that I don't like.
Also, if you're a coffee snob (like me) you can't go wrong with "Drumroasters" which is located right in the Valley view center just off the hwy.
For a round of golf, Cowichan Bay is close to 3 local golf courses, Arbutus Ridge, Cowichan Golf & Country Club and Duncan Meadows.
