Youbou Homes for Sale
Youbou is small lakeside community located on the north shore of Cowichan Lake. Youbou is the second-largest community on Cowichan Lake. Just for clarification purposes Youbou is pronounced UBOW. That’s always a tough one for newbies :o)
Youbou’s premier festival, the Swimming Regatta, is held annually every August at the half hectare, waterfront Arbutus Park with dances, a sunset cruise, parades and more. For a peaceful setting in Arbutus trees, the waterfront park of Arbutus Park offers a large sandy beach, a playground and the Big Pool. As well as a diving board, a slide from the dock and lifeguards during summer season. Youbou is great for the water enthusiast!
With camping and rec sites nearby and wonderful hiking trails atop Baldy Mountain, this area is a recreational dream.
For those seeking adventure – The Great Lake Walk and Ultramarathon is a 56-km walk or run around beautiful Cowichan Lake, held annually on the third Saturday in September. The race route starts at Youbou on the north shore, continuing counter-clockwise to Caycuse, Honeymoon Bay and Mesachie Lake on the south shore, and finishing in the town of Lake Cowichan.
